Employee Benefit Plans

Employee benefit plans consist of a variety of programs covering millions of participants.  These plans are governed by the Employment Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), the Department of Labor, and the Internal Revenue Service. The structure of these programs changes frequently as new types of plans are developed and new statutes imposed.

Steven E. Silva, a K.B. Parrish & Co. LLP partner and CPA, is an expert in the area of auditing employee benefits plans.  Steve has been auditing all types of employee benefit plans for over 20 years.  Steve’s experience includes the following types of plans:

- Full and limited scope 401(k) plans
- Multi-employer plans
- Defined benefit plans

In addition to the audits of the plans, Steve is responsible for the filing of Form 5500 for several of the plans he currently works with.  Steve has been involved as a volunteer with the INCPAS Peer Review Committee, which he chaired from 2003 to 2005, the INCPAS Leadership Cabinet, and the CFMA Accounting and Reporting Committee.
